I've been struggling for far too long now. I'm back up to 175 after being down to 168 earlier this summer. I've been slacking on my exercise and I can really feel the difference in my body.
And I've been eating, and eating, and eating. :(
I hate the way I feel. I feel guilty when people ask me about my weight loss/bodybugg or complement me, like I should confess all my unhealthy choices to them. I know everything I should be doing, it's time for me to stop tweeting or blogging about it and actually do it! I had a really cool lightbulb moment yesterday. Why not see what my body is capable of? I know I'm physical able to take on a lot harder exercises-but mentally I hold back in my comfort zone. I want to see what a "fit" me would look like. It's time....
So with that I set a new goal weight of 150. I adjusted my bodybugg goals to reflect me new job (which I love!) where I'm not as active as before.
Daily calorie burn: 2250
Daily calorie intake: 1750
Daily calorie deficit: 500
With my new goals I'm also going to focus on:
Getting all my water in.
Exercising 6 days a week like before.
Preparing a healthy lunch the night before.
Meal planning for the week every Sunday.
Walk at least 30 miles in September.
Here's to the best September I've ever had!

Pleasantly Suprised
I had a really great weekend! I logged all my food(rather than just partial days) ,and I finally worked out again. After all I have a new walking goal for August of 30 miles that I AM going to achieve. Also, this morning I stepped on the scale for an "official" weigh in and was pleasantly suprised. I weighed 171.2! That's actually 2 pounds less than the last time I logged my weight on bodybugg.com! I thought I had gained like 4 pounds over these last few weeks. I've seen 171 before....I'm quite familiar with the 170's. For some reason after I got to my all time lowest of 168, I freaked out and decided the 170's were more comfortable. Not anymore. This week I'm going to work to once again break out of the 170's for good!
Can't type any longer....I've gotta get moving!

Closing a Chapter...
Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since I last blogged!
I've been so wrapped up with family get togethers, family health scares, and preparing to change jobs that I've kind of turned exercise and eating healthy 100% of the time on the back burner.
I've gained about 4 lbs....that's why i haven't been updating my weekly weigh ins. :(
So for August I'd like to get back to my old ways that worked best for me and get the scale moving back down...and not up anymore.
Today was my last day at work. I've been there since I was a senior in high school ( 8 and a half years!). It was kind of bittersweet. While there are many things I won't miss about the job, I really will miss all the people I've had the privilege of working with and meeting over the years. They surprised me while I was eating lunch with a sweet card and gift card from everyone, a cake and a little container of fruit in case I didn't want to eat the cake(they know me so well). But the cake looked good and so I had a little piece! I'll have next week off to finish up some things like shopping and getting my hair did! Then my first day of the new job is the 13Th. YEAH!!! I'm so excited!
Here is a few pics from today!
My Cake! You can see part of the fruit over on the side. Which I left in the fridge on accident!

Water is my new friend
Sunday I wrote out some goals & here's how I'm doing so far.
Yesterday was my first day of tracking my water and I stopped counting at 100 ounces. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I drink a lot throughout the day anyway, I've just never written it down or tried to get in my water before I had any tea(w/splenda), or diet coke. I prefer those drinks over water, but I know thats not good for me. My diet soda consumption was getting a little out of hand. It's actually kinda fun to have a daily goal. I found an iPhone app called 'Water Your Body' that I started using to help me.
Then for my monthly mile goal I've got 5 of the 25 done so far.
I'm at lunch now and I'm sitting in the break room and someone has brought in there leftover goodies. Pretzels M&M's, regular M&M's, white chocolate pretzels, and iced sugar cookies. All foods I like. All easy to grab each time you walk by. But I haven't had any. Then I was thinking...why can I be stronger about saying no to foods at work than in my own home? If those foods were at home I would eat them. This is why I don't buy them.
Hmmm...

Goals
I've been struggling a lot lately. I've been eating WAY too much...plain and simple. I haven't been "tweeting" about it because it's embarrassing. But this is a process, this is life, and I write about all the good so why not write about my struggles too?
This weekend I was around some family members (my side of the family is all obese) and just seeing some of there health problems and how much they aren't able to do because of there size was startling. I don't want to be like that...ever. I can get control of my eating habits, and I have to do it now. So today I'm re-dedicating to my weight loss goals! I had to revise my bodybugg goal because i was so far off track. The new goal is to be down to 160 by October.
Some other goals this month:
Limit my coke zero intake to ONE a day only after I've reached my daily water goal.
Exercise 6 days a week, with Wednesday being my off day as long as my daily calorie burn is still met that day.
Write down/log EVERYTHING! Everything that goes in must be accounted for.
Walk/Jog a minimum of 25 miles this month. First time doing a monthly goal.
Get more sleep.
When I find myself wandering in the kitchen looking for food- get a glass of water or some gum and LEAVE the kitchen.
I used to have motivational quotes on neon cards all over the fridge & microwave and I took them down about a month ago. They are going back up.
I'm sure I'll think of some more goals but for now I've got to go to sleep. This is going to be an exciting and stressful week. I have an interview Thursday morning! I'm nervous already. Yikes. Goodnight!

5 pounds gained,5 pounds lost
This week turned out to be a pretty good week. I heard back from the dermatologist that the results from my excision were clear(no more melanoma) and I also got my stitches out on Friday. The nurse that took them out told me my scar was ,"one of the prettier melanoma scars she's seen." Odd to hear, but i guess that's a good thing. :)
I logged all my food and as I started feeling better I started walking more on the treadmill. Which apparently paid off and I lost 5.1! It's exciting but it's just the same 5 pounds I gained the week prior to and week of the surgery. I really thought it would take me 5 weeks to get it back off. I'm so glad that's not the case. Next goal is to get out of the 170's...again.
I've gotta kick in into high gear because it's summertime and vacation is right around the corner! I'm so excited!

Starting Over...again
I had my lovely surgical excision on Wednesday to remove the melanoma. It wasn't bad. They numbed it up, so I couldn't feel a thing. My husband came in with me, and my parents waited in the waiting room. My husband was there for moral support with such comments like ,"Wow, look at that!", and "You're gonna have a cool scar babe!" It was great! Lol. But really It made it a little more light hearted and I made it out without crying, and if you know me I cry about everything! Matt told me the incision was about 3 inches by 2 inches and they went down about an inch deep. A little bigger than I'd first thought! But the doctor said since it's on my back they can take a larger area and that is fine with me. As long as they get it all out, I can live with a scar. I'll find out the results sometime this week and I go back to have the stitches removed on Friday.
I haven't done any exercise until today. I walked a mile on the treadmill at a very slow rate, since I'm not supposed to do anything that makes me sweat. I stayed home from work both Thursday and Friday which means I was home all day with food, and food, and more food. I have been eating. Nervous eating. Bored eating. It's been terrible. I stepped on the scale last night and my eyes about popped out of my head. It was so scary! I know the majority of the gain is because of my poor eating and lack of exercise both last week and this week. Then I also have been on a new BC pill that my doctor said would make me gain water weight. It's my 2ND week on them.
After the facing of the scale last night, I decided I had to get a grip! I'm back to logging everything, measuring everything, and eating only when I'm hungry not just because there's nothing else to do. It also feels great to walk a bit, I'll try to do that a few other times today. I know I need time to heal physically I just got to get things under control emotionally and get back to eating healthy. Eating crap = feeling like crap, eating healthy = feeling healthy and HAPPY!
Tonight we have a concert to go to. Nickelback, Shinedown, and Breaking Benjamin!!!!!!
We bought the tickets MONTHS ago and I've been excited to go, but didn't foresee this happening. I asked my husband last night to see if any of his friends would want to go but since it's such short notice, no on can. So I'm going, and I hope I can handle sitting/standing that long. Doors open at 5:30 and I'm sure Nickelback doesn't go on til pretty late. Last night was the first time I could actually lay on my back, I haven't been able to lean back in a chair yet. So we shall see! We will eat an early dinner and I'll smuggle in some good snacks in my purse just in case. :)
I hope y'all have a healthy and active weekend!

Things are looking up!
I feel so much relief after everything today. I finally heard back from the dermatologist office and they scheduled me for next Wednesday. I read on there website what they will be doing. It's called Surgical Excision & it's the most common treatment for melanoma skin cancers. I feel SOOOO much better knowing this is scheduled, and everything will be fine.
I also had been nervous about my first breast sonogram. Matt knew I was worried(he's actually been worried too), and he left school early to meet me at the office. I thought that was very sweet of him, and it made me feel a lot better. They were super nice and right off the bat after the doctor started the procedure, she asked me if I'd lost a significant amount of weight. Apparently that accounts for the lumps that they found at my gyno visit, and she said had she examined me, she would have sent me to a specialist too. But she said everything was normal and there's no need to worry. I also found out I'm not "high risk" like I thought. But since my g-ma who had breast cancer had no siblings, and my mother had the preventative surgery before she was diagnosed there's no way to tell if I have the genetic marker for breast cancer.
So things are looking up! I got off my bad food wagon today. Today has been great! I've only had 1300 calories. Well under my 1800 limit. After the crap I've consumed all week, I think it's okay to have a couple low cal days.
I'm looking forward to the weekend. We are going to OK to visit family. Normally this is a caution area when it comes to food. My family is all big because we LOVE to eat. I mean who doesn't? But I'm not stressing over it this time, because my brother has been counting calories and wearing his bodybugg so i know I'll be okay at his house. He lost 9 pounds his first week! Punk. No seriously I'm happy for him. :) Hooray for healthy family members to help us in the weight loss process! I love it!
Gotta go get my jog on! :)

Weigh Day!
This morning was my weekly weigh in. I lost another pound! I am pleased with that. We've had a busy weekend. Yesterday I went to a wedding shower, then an art festival, and then saturday night church. Today my husband ran in the Warrior Dash 5K (with crazy obstacles). It was a lot of fun to watch. He's never done any 5k's before and he did a great job!
I'm not really looking forward to this week. I should hear back from my doc and get my dermatologist appt set up. I talked to my good friend who also had a melanoma spot removed and she said she had her consultation on one day and two days later they did the surgery. So i'm expecting it to be fast. Then Thursday I have my breast sonogram.
So it's going to be tough, but I know everything is going to be alright. I just gotta keep eating right, logging everything, and working out. I don't want this to derail me.
Matt right after he crossed the finish line.

Biopsy Results
A couple weeks ago at my yearly exam my nurse practitioner pointed out a mole on my neck and said,"I can take that off for you." So I decided to have it done and told her I had a mole on my back that I want checked because it was darker than the rest and it popped up in the last couple years (since I was burned badly playing on the beach in Galveston). So last week I had a couple moles taken off and the one on my back biopsied. Today my nurse practitioner called me with the results. They found melanoma around the edge of the mole and I have to go see a dermatologist to have a larger removed. I was in shock. I was at work and I couldn't stop crying. Melanoma? Melanoma is cancer...I have skin cancer. It could be just the one spot, but what if there's more?
I'm feeling a little better after talking with my husband and I went and saw my parents and they took us out to eat. My mom told me not to worry, it's not our kind of cancer. Lol. It's true, breast cancer and colon cancer are the ones that run in our family. Speaking of breast cancer, I have to go next Thursday to do a breast sonogram because I'm high risk and they don't do mammograms for women under 30. So now that they found melanoma I'm even more freaked out about my breast exam.
I'm going to relax and try not to thing about it anymore tonight. I'm all cried out.

Sucess at last with C25K-W9
I just ran for 30 minutes!!!!!!
I'm so excited! I have been doing the C25K program for weeks and have loved it. But when I got to the final week (5 min warmup/30 min run/5 min cooldown), I just couldn't complete it. It was so frustrating because week 8 had me jogging for 28 minutes. So why was 2 extra minutes harder for me? I attempted it multiple times and would have to quit after getting extreme side pain.
This afternoon when I got home from work I googled the issue. I found an article that had some helpful tips on breathing. So I decided to give it a try and focus on that. I'm happy to say it worked! I did start to feel a slight pain creeping up but I knew I only had 3 songs left so I just slowed down slightly and kept on breathing. :)
Here are some other changes I made today that I think really helped me.

- I plugged my iphone into our home stereo instead of wearing it. This helped me because I couldn't look down and see how much time I had left, and I couldn't fiddle with the music.
- I built a timed playlist. I had way to many songs on there before. I also tried some Christian Rock/Rap. Something more uplifting than the angry rock music that I thought was helping me.
- I covered the top of the treadmill so I couldn't see any time, distance, or speed level. I just adjusted my speed for what felt comfortable.
- I prayed. I knew I wasn't going to be able to do this on my own.
I'm off to get dinner going. Another Hungry Girl recipe perhaps? Yes, I'm obsessed.

Weekly recap
I'm sad to say that the momentum of last week fizzled out Sunday shortly after I wrote my last blog. I had a great week & lost over 3 lbs and I indulged a little too much that night...and the next day...and the next. This week I fell apart at night or if I was home alone. Like the calories don't count if nobody sees me eat them!? Then I did something I haven't done since I started wearing my bodybugg-I ate food and didn't log it. I "eyeballed" measurements instead of my usual measuring of EVERYTHING. And just like I expected I weighed this morning and had gained .8. I remember my Weight Watcher leader telling us before if you kind of track your food you will kind of lose weight. Tracking is KEY...and the only way to know what I'm actually eating is to write it all down.
Lately I've been getting a lot of compliments on my weight loss/looks. It has been awesome & makes me so happy! I mean, who doesn't like to be complimented?!? But I think instead of using the compliments to further my desire to work hard I've done the opposite and I know that's no excuse to let myself "splurge" on things. For example this week it was spinach dip with baked tostitos. I found this spinach dip made with yogurt that was only 45 calories a serving...yeah I consumed the entire container by myself in 2 days! Then I tried Kashi Go Lean Crunch with my yogurt and I've had it everyday at least once and sometimes twice. I can't get enough of the Kashi! I've got to get control of myself.
I also wasn't so great with my workouts this week. I wanted to repeat week 8 of C25K and increase my speed a little but everyday I tried to run I quit early. I know I can do it. I'm physically capable of jogging for 30 min straight it's just in my head that I can't do it.
So this week I will try again. My knee was hurting after I did the P90X Kenpo workout tonight so I didn't run. Hopefully I can start back up with it tomorrow.
There were some fun positives things that happened this week.
I had my yearly "woman" exam and my doc was extremely happy at my progress. It was fun. Well, about as fun as that kind of visit could be!
I got to celebrate my birthday with my husband's family and had a great time. My brother in law and I share the same b-day.
We got to go to a large Christian music concert Friday night that included 7 bands. It was awesome & made me feel old because I got a headache 3 bands in and was yawning and sleepy at 9:30.
Saturday I got to spend quality time with my best friend. We got pedicures and went shopping and stumbled upon a new store that super fun. It's an accessories store and it's set up by color. So all of the pink jewelry is grouped together with the pink purses, sandals, cute tops, etc. And so on for every color you can think of. I attached some pics of what I bought. I now think I need to go back and buy more so I can have jewelry and bags for every outfit! I just don't think my husband would go for that.
Anyway I'm just rambling now & I need to go to bed. It was a bad week food/exercise wise but a great week personally. I just hope to get back to my routine this week and be below 170 next Sunday.
1st day finds:some earrings, a heart necklace watch and a Dream,Wish,Believe necklace.

Day 2 purchases with my mom: Hot Orange purse, 2 chunky rings & another pair of earrings.

Weigh in Sunday & new pics
Well, Sunday morning weigh in came and I'm so glad I stuck with my goals this week because it payed off. I lost 3.4 lbs!!! Yippee! I finally reached my 60 lb milestone (61.6 to be exact).
Here were my bodybugg stats this week.
Daily Burn Goal:2450
Daily Calorie Target:1950
Daily Deficit Target:500
Sun:2411/1790/621
Mon:3096/1870/1226
Tues:2821/1891/930
Wed:2620/1923/697
Thurs:2827/1738/1089
Fri:3251/1783/1468-----My Birthday and highest daily burn and deficit so far!
Sat:2701/1843/858
I hope to have an even better week this week. I will be faced with another birthday celebration on Wednesday. But I've made it through once, I know I can do it again.
On another note, we went to prom last night. It was a lot of fun. I felt awesome in my dress and got lots of compliments from my hubby's co-workers. Most of whom I had not met before. It was the first time I felt completely confident in my appearance. I didn't care if people were looking at me because I felt great! It's amazing how much more fun you have when you don't care what people could be saying or thinking about you.
That's all I have time to write right now. It's Sunday so all I've done is go to church, eat, and visit with my parents so i'm currenty in a surplus. Time to get moving!
Here are a few pictures from this week.

Tomorrow
Tomorrow is my birthday! :) Tomorrow I will be faced with my favorite worst enemy:birthday cake.
Tomorrow I will remember all the great choices I've made this week. Tomorrow I will remember it's just food. The few seconds of enjoyment from that little piece of cake are nothing compared to the feeling I'll have on Sunday morning when I weigh and see a loss. Tomorrow is not an excuse to make poor choices just because it's my birthday.
So here's my game plan. I am waking up early to do C25K BEFORE work. I'll be taking my lunch as usual. They usually do birthdays at noon-which is when I always go to lunch. So I will politely tell them I'd like to save a piece for later. Then when I get back no one will be in there and will forget all about it. Dinner with my family is to a restaurant of my choice. I looked online tonight because I wanted something "different". I looked at Johnnie Carino's menu & the potato soup & baked cheese tortilini I used to always get would be over 1500 calories!!!! Not even including the delicious bread before the meal! NOT WORTH IT! So I'm choosing a local restaurant we like called Scotty P's. I can get a great turkey burger & sweet potato fries and feel good and satisfied.
Then I'd like to get another workout in in the evening just because I think it would be a fun birthday present to myself.
So tomorrow I will turn 26. Tomorrow I will be faced with temptations but I know I'm strong enough to make the right choices.
What will you do tomorrow?

Saying goodbye to Weight Watchers
I've been thinking a lot lately about my Weight Watcher leader. I haven't been back to my WW meeting since I bought my bodybugg and that was about 5 weeks ago. I started going back in 2008, and have had the same awesome leader Donna the whole time. She was even my leader back in 2002 when I was a senior in high school and lost 50lbs the first time(before gaining it all back plus more).
My WW subscription doesn't end until the 16th, so I'm thinking about going in one last time. I feel like I need to tell her how much she has helped me and that I wouldn't be where I am today without WW and her.
I don't want her to think I feel off the wagon and that's why i've been MIA.
I don't know why I'm so emotional about this. Just sitting here in the breakroom I'm crying just thinking about it. But then I think, the last time I went I was 180. Yesterday I was 173. And that makes me happy! I know that just because I'm not going to meetings doesn't mean I'll gain everything back. I'm a different person than I used to be. All the other times when I stopped going, I reverted back to my old habits and that's why the weight came back. This time I enjoy exercising and I enjoy eating right. It has been a healthy lifestyle change, one that I will keep!
All in all I know this has been the best change for me, but it's still hard to say goodbye.

Easter recap

All day at work I kept thinking of different things to write about. Different things I learned this week, and my game plan for the upcoming birthday weekend. But not it's late and my mind is totally blank!
I'll just write about Easter then. :) My brother and his family came down from Oklahoma. I had a really great time with them. I did a little too much "bonding" with my bro over tortilla chips and spinach artichoke dip...but it was so good! Food still trumps everything at my folks house. I still need to figure out some ways to try to turn this around, and make our time together more fun rather than sitting around watching TV and eating all day.
I was still at my parents house on my usual weigh in day on Sunday and according to their scale i was up .6. I didn't want to log it! I mean I wasn't at home on my regular scale and I couldn't strip down like I normally do because there old school scale is in the garage and the door from the house to the garage has a window. So there was no weighing in the buff.
So i will just wait until next Sunday and be back on schedule.
I found an old picture of my husband and I from Easter a couple years ago and I did a comparison with this years. It's so strange to see myself that pudgy. I didn't feel like I was that huge! Anyway....it's fun to see the results.
Hopefully my brain will return after some sleep and I will be able to put my thoughts down in writing. Goodnight!

A loss is a loss
Completing week 6 of C25K yesterday made me feel so great that I started week 7 today. Usually I skip a day in between to give my knee a rest, but I really wanted to jogg before church. So I got my butt up early at 6:15 and did another 5 min walk, 25 min jog, 5 min cooldown. Then I weighed in for the week and I was 173.4 (-.6). I wasn't thrilled but at least I went down. It could've been worse!
My next mini goal is to be 170 by my birthday weekend which is April 9th. I think I can do it. I don't know what we're doing yet to celebrate but the next night we are going to prom. My husband is a high school teacher and was asked to be a chaperone. He's wanted to go the last few years but I haven't really wanted to get all dressed up. I usually don't wear dresses/skirts. But I'm starting to like them more and more and I think it will be a fun night. So today after church my mom and I went to Dillards and I fourealm awesome dress that's cream, coral, and black and makes me feel like a million bucks! It's so pretty and I'll be able to wear it more than the one time. Now I just need to find some new heels (also something I don't wear very often.)
I'd better go to sleep now. I'm actually looking forward to Monday! That might change when the alarm goes off at 5:30 ,but for now I'm ready to get it all going again. :)

My Super Saturday

It's 11:00 at night and I'm finally able to sit down and write about today and my week. Today was a super Saturday! I started out my morning by getting to "sleep in" until 8. Which was much needed...too bad it wasn't 11, but I'll take it! Then I did level 2 on the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred DVD. After a few minutes of rest and some cereal I decided to complete week 6 of my couch to 5K training. Last week when it came time for day 3 I flaked out and didn't want to try it. So this week I started week 6 over, then day 3 landed on today. It consisted of a 5 minute warm up walk then 25 minutes of jogging(no walking), then a 5 minute cool down walk. I set up a play list of rock songs(mostly Nickleback, Shinedown,Disturbed, and some others) which really seemed to help me with momentum. Usually when I'm on the treadmill the TV is on or I might choose hip hop or praise and worship to listen to. Well after today I figured out rock is definitely the best choice for me! At the end of my run a song called "Change Your Mind" by Sister Hazel came on and I started crying while I was running. I heard the song for the first time yesterday and instantly loved it. The chorus says, " If you want to be somebody else, If your tired of losing battles with yourself, Change your mind...".http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/sisterhazel/changeyourmind.html
I was just thinking about the past and how I used to be and now I'm able to run for 25 minutes straight?! It was just a really cool moment, and made me realize I can do anything I want if I just set my mind to it. So my day was started out awesome and just got better. My husband and I took our dune buggy out for a drive since it was so pretty. We got to see my nieces and nephews. Then we met some friends downtown at a wonderful seafood place called Hook, Line and Sinker. After all of that we went to Super Target and the Neighborhood Walmart to load up on all kinds of good food for the week. So all in all it was a pretty active day. I used to look forward to the weekend so I could relax and stay home and watch TV. But now that I have my bodybugg I realize I can't slack off for two whole days because relaxing and doing nothing is not going to help me burn the calories I need to keep reaching my weight loss goals. I hope tomorrow is just as productive. I weigh in tomorrow morning before church. I think I'm going to wake up a little earlier and start week 7 of couch to 5K.
These are my bodybugg goals:Burn 2450 calories, Consume 1950 calories, Calorie Deficit of 500 calories. At that average I should lose 1 lb a week.
Here was my week:
Sun-Burned 2069, ate 2177, surplus of 108 :(
Mon-Burned 2684, ate 1780, deficit of 904
Tue-Burned 2685, ate 1810, deficit of 875
Wed-Burned 2398, ate 2200, surplus of 198 :(
Thur-Burned 3178, ate 1722, deficit of 1456
Fri-Burned 2626, ate 1921, deficit of 705
Sat-Burned 2762, ate 1698, deficit of 1064
2 bad days mixed in with some really good ones where I exceeded my 500 calorie deficit. So we shall see on the scale tomorrow if it evened out. Either way I am pleased with myself and where I'm at, and realize I'm making little life changes every day to become a healthier me.

Body question for the lady runners. :)
As some of you might have seen on Twitter I've been doing the Couch to 5K program over the last several weeks to ease me into running a 5K. The program has been great and I love it, but the more I run the more I have to pee! Sorry if that's TMI. I know that is weird and I wasn't sure if I should write about it, but I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else? Running is still new to me. I can go just before I start my workout and it never fails, once I get into jogging I've got to go again. The other day I had to get off the treadmill 3 times in the middle of one workout(a 30-40 min time frame).
In April I go for my yearly checkup, so I guess I'll be asking her what's wrong with me!

Moving on
I didn't write a post last week because I was upset. After a great first week loss of 5.2 lbs I was excited to weigh in last Sunday. Excited because I was less than a pound away from reaching 60 lbs gone FOREVER. Then I weighed and was UP. It was so discouraging because I had had such a good week. I had reached my goal on the bodybugg website everyday except for one, because I had strep throat and rested all day and didn't wear the bodybugg. But after talking to several of my twitter friends they reminded me of several factors that could have contributed to my gain. Not eating enough ,eating the same foods, or water retention due to the antibiotics.
So this week I tried to add a little more food, and make sure I was getting close to my 20% Protein, 60% Carbs, and 20% Total Fat target each day, and I finished up my 10 day antibiotics. I weighed this morning for my week 3 results and I lost 1.8!
This week was also my parents and mother-in-law's first week using the bodybugg system. We are all weighing on Sundays so my dad was down 4.6, and my mother-in-law lost 6! My mom was still sleeping so I'm not sure of her first week progress, but from talking to her all week I'm sure it will be good. I think she's finally seeing that she doesn't have to go join a gym, she just needs to MOVE MORE and live a more active lifestyle.
Well...I'm off for now. Saturdays and Sundays are my lowest activity days. Sunday especially because we just go to church, and spend the afternoon at my mom and dads. But today we stayed in because of the snow so it's time to get moving!
How to keep your momentum going on weekends?

A Realization
Today was exactly one week since I starting wearing the bodybugg and I lost 5.2lbs!!!! This was a great week! I ate really well, logged everything I ate, got in lots of exercise(though I still could do more). To top it off I went shopping yesterday and for the first time trying on clothes in the dressing room I realized, "Hey, I actually look good!" Instead of looking in the mirror and seeing all the flaws and things I needed to work on, I saw the positives and the things I've already accomplished. It was a fun experience. Fun to not have to shop in plus sizes anymore. Fun to see where I've come from(a size 18/20 to a size 10). Fun to think that I'm only 1 size away from wearing a single digit clothing size. I'm proud to say the days of me crying in the dressing room and being frustrated at not being able to find anything that looks good are gone.
This afternoon I was trying to update the info on my blog so I was looking at my WW books with my past weights and noticed a pattern. Every time I was within a pound or half a pound of hitting another goal, I gained the next week and then it took me another 2 weeks or more to get back down. I had a consistent pattern of this that repeated over a 18 month period. I think this was really important for me to see today because right now my total is 59.6 lbs. Which means this week I will hit the 60 lb milestone. I am going to start a new pattern. From now on I'd like to be within a pound or half a pound of a goal and achieve that goal the next week. I feel like this is a new chapter in my life.
So here's to another great week. Hopefully I will continue to learn more about myself during this journey. I contemplated changing the title of my blog, but it is what it is....My Weight Loss Journey. A journey of not only learning to eat healthy and exercise. But a journey of learning to think more positively and loving myself.

My week so far...
I've only had my bodybugg for a couple days now and i'm already LOVING it!!!! Monday I had a great day and had a deficit of 1183! My plan is set up for me to have at least a 500 calorie deficit each day so I can lose 1 lb a week. So that was really exciting to more than double it! Yesterday I was only able to get in 30 extra minutes on the treadmill. I wanted to see how many calories the Shred or Bootcamp DVD burns but my hubby was tutoring here at the house & i didn't want to do those while company was here.
This morning i weighed in at 175! I was so happy! I know this may change this week but at least I'm going down! I've been hitting the wall at 178 and haven't weighed less than that since Christmas! It's like I have an accountability system strapped to my arm now. It makes me think about every little thing do. I am constantly thinking of how to move more while I'm at work and I haven't eaten anything I didn't logged. I've even managed to stay away from the delicious chocolate candies at work. Lately i'd been grabbing them every time I walked into the office. Which really adds up throughout the day!
I can't wait to get home and see how today has gone. Then the plan is to do the 30 Day Shred and some time on the treadmill for my Couch to 5K(of which I'm on week 4!).
I feel like I'm back on track for the first time in a long time. And I actually BELIEVE I can hit my goal weight this summer!

bodybugg time!
After almost a year of my husband trying to convince me to use the bodybugg armband(as seen on the Biggest Loser), I agreed and purchased one today. He used it last year and lost 60 pounds in 4 months to win a biggest loser style competition at work. So not only have I seen it work for people on TV I've seen it work in real life too. I just didn't want to feel like I was "cheating" on Weight Watchers, plus I didn't want people to see it and have to explain it to them. If only it worked on your leg instead of you arm! Oh well, I'll have to get over myself and just do it. I think since it will be monitoring my calorie burn it will give me that push I need to increase my exercise and reach my next weight loss goal.
Even though I watched Matt use the website, I never realized how simple it was until today. I think with Weight Watchers I just worry about points values and not necessarily what's in my food. This way I have to hit 60% Carbs, 20% Protein, and 20% Total Fat. I'm so excited to see how this in action and find out how many calories I burn in a typical day!
I set up my plan to lose 1 lb a week (at first just to see how I do). My weight today is 178 and I chose to reach 157 by July 24th. I still don't have a feel for what I want my goal weight to be, but when I make it to 157 I will have lost 75 lbs! I'll wait to see how I look and feel then to see if I need to lose anymore.
Now I'm off to do Day 3/Week 3 of my couch to 5K plan....

A Fresh Start
The last couple months I have been halfway logging my food, halfway eating right, halfway working out and it finally caught up with me. I realized it was enough when I stepped on the scale at Weight Watchers last Thursday and I had gained 3 pounds in 2 weeks! 3 pounds?!? I have never gained that much in the 18 months i've been going.
So that's it. No more "cheating", if it goes in my mouth, I WILL log it. I WILL get my exercise in, no matter what. And I've got to pump it up, the same old workouts that helped me drop pounds before-aren't enough anymore.
I've got 20 more pounds to go to reach my 75 pound goal. I'm back on track and ready to start being a loser again! ;)
